Suolo was born out of a desire to bring to life a timely oenological expression of our Estates.
The oenological challenge of the Suolo project was to give voice to the complicity between soil, vine and man. The project was born from the punctual choice of the agronomic area in symbiosis with the choice of the variety to be grown.
Listening, experiencing the agronomic seasons is the starting point; accompanying with acute agriculture the maturity of the fruit is the connecting piece between the vineyard and the winery.
Duca di Salaparuta, on the Suor Marchesa estate, has dedicated 10% of its 127 hectares
to international grape varieties. Through zoning work, specific portions of the vineyard within the estate were chosen. These include two areas planted with Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc.
In Risignolo, on the other hand, in Western Sicily, an area “tested” by white grape varieties was chosen in which Zibibbo was planted over an area of 2.5 hectares.
