The Historical Winery

The story of Duca di Salaparuta winery is a challenge born 200 years ago. A story moved by Giuseppe Alliata’s dream of making his first wine at Villa Valguarnera in Bagheria. The passion was later transformed into an entrepreneurial activity with illustrious names such as Edoardo, Enrico, and Topazia Alliata. The winery tour will unveil this sentimental journey made of territory, people and vision that is handed down with the same thirst as those who gave rise to it and made Duca di Salaparuta a brand with roots in Sicily, like the vine in the earth.

The winery experience is a journey into the eno-cultural terroir of Duca di Salaparuta, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary with a project dedicated to what was originally on the Alliata family’s wine production area and which, over the centuries, has become an open-air artistic workshop, a creative and cultural cradle from which were born personalities who have brought Sicily and its beauty to the world with their art.

Wine Tour & Tastings

The winery tour is a journey to discover the history of Duca di Salaparuta, its cultural terroir and innovative winemaking and aging methods. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique atmosphere of the barrique cellar, touching some of the historic vintages of one of the Icona wines of Sicilian enology: the Duca Enrico. The tasting will allow the multisensory experience to continue with stories, wines and food pairings typical of the area.
