When you have the good fortune to uncork a bottle of fine wine that has aged for many years, it can happen that the cork tends to crumble. This happens because, for example, the bottle has been stored upright or in an insufficiently humid environment. Never fear, however, even if the cork crumbles you can put things right and enjoy your wine by following a few simple steps. Here they are:
– First of all, choose a good corkscrew and uncork the bottle as best you can
– Pour the wine into a decanter and leave it to rest for at least half an hour
– Before drinking, filter the wine through a strainer or cheesecloth to catch all the particles of cork
