In the deepest heart of the island, where summers are hot and winters mild, Duca di Salaparuta chooses to cultivate a grape variety beloved throughout Italy: Vermentino, from which Sentiero del Vento was born.

In 2024, Sicily experienced a dry autumn and winter, followed by a dry spring. The summer was hot, with no rainfall and significant temperature variations between day and night.

Harvest

The grapes were harvested on the end of August.

Vinification and Ageing

er destemming and gentle pressing, the must begins fermentation at a controlled temperature for about 15 days. Following fermentation, the wine remains in contact with its fine lees, resulting from the lysis of fermentation yeasts, for at least 4 months. It then undergoes bottle aging for at least one month before release.

Tasting Notes & pairings

Bright yellow in colour with greenish tinges.

Rich in Mediterranean aromas, with hints of aromatic herbs and marine notes.

It is pleasantly fresh, fruity and slightly tangy on the palate with a very long finish.

It is ideal for light and sophisticated lunches.

To be paired with fish starters, crustaceans, raw seafood, delicate fish-based first courses, grilled fish and white meat dishes.
